Softwerker conveys open-minded explanations, considerations, help, anecdotes, workflows and also food for thought, which I incorporate in casually sequence, piece by piece.
Over the course of time, it's accumulated a number of useful insights, which are gradually introduced in loose order in Softwerker. They may give help or food for thought to both the newcomer and the experienced user, whereby all the experiences presented here have been carried out by me and are not based on hearsay.
The chronology has been set up so that the visitor can read about how the Softwerker of .org has developed via .info and .Bayern. It is also possible to have a look around without much effort.
Softwerker.org is the homepage I started with. A move became due because it was no longer in keeping with the times. In addition, the use of the homepage construction kit will no longer be necessary from 31.07.2018, as this additional service will be discontinued by the provider.
After moving house, I switched the homepage from DSL (formerly 1&1 Telecom GmbH) to web hosting (web space from 1&1 IONOS SE).
The reason is that the 100 MB web space transfer from 1&1 DSL to web hosting 1&1 IONOS is not feasible.
There is a provider at the new address and consequently the DSL from 1&1 is redundant.
The imprint will continue to be updated.
Softwerker represents the first attempt to create a homepage without a DSL-construction kit from the Softwerker.org data. I was also assured that the content of the web space (100 MB) cannot be transferred from DSL to web hosting and that Softwerker.org is dead in the true sense.
In order to make a quantum leap forward for a PC-orientated homepage, it requires a lot of redesigning.
Dynamic page width adjustment in conjunction with search engine optimization (SEO) achieves this effect.
I refer to these measures as overall tuning, because they also pass on and accentuate the enormous advantages of PCs, notebooks and mobile devices, especially small displays.
To provide the homepage with more security, which corresponds to today's technical standard for the transmission of confidential data via HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), it is provided with SSL encryption. The spying out of data by third parties has thus been pushed forward with a technical block in the form of 256-bit encryption, which can only be overcome to a considerable extent with technical and financial effort.
SSL - Secure Socket Layer
For many years SSL was "the standard" for encrypting Internet connections. The further development ended with version 3.
TLS - Transport Layer Security
TLS is today the specified standard that has been adopted from SSL version 3.0, has undergone several changes and is known as SSL version 3.1.
SSL is still in the name, although TLS is used. In fact, it doesn't matter whether SSL or TLS is said.
If the SSL component, the activatable security component for HTTP, is added to HTTP, HTTPS results.
HTTP - Hypertext Transfer Protocol
HTTPS - Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure
Below I have described the two possible states of transport encryption. This shows the visitor the respective security status of the
homepage in the web browser.
The green lock symbol should precede each address line and indicates that this website is secured by SSL encryption.
Of course, the lock symbol applies to the currently displayed Internet page and may also change if another page of the same homepage is called up. If this occurs, caution is required. Either this page is not secure because it contains one or more errors or I mistakenly ended up on a page I didn't want to go to. My only general reaction to this is to quit browser without doing anything else.
The positive indication for a secure connection should be the normal case when you are on the Internet:
I created the negative readout for test purposes as an illustration:
